If you are really … If you are really interested in keeping the back nice and straight in this stretch, try doing this same stretch lying on the floor. Use a strap around your thigh, if you can't reach comfortably while still keeping your back flat and supported on the floor. I teach this in my yoga classes all the time.
Hey Dr. Steve, This … Hey Dr. Steve, This worked pretty good, I'm very tight on the left side just above the hip. This REALLY helps that pain. But what I'm seeing now is, as soon as I lift something, not even heavy, The pain comes back, if I do this stretch, the pain goes away, in the lower back, weird, but if I keep doing these, I think it will help more and more, thank you, Going to look for more videos from you!!!

I can't even begin … I can't even begin to thank you for the information you've given me. When I began the first stretch I knew instantly that this was what I had been praying for:) All I can say is bless you. On the second leg stretch I had to cry. Not because of the pain but because of the relief it gave me INSTANTLY. Today since 5am I've been rotating from chair to chair to bed to couch to floor to every pillow I have (even the ones that are just for looks:) I took Ibuprofen, but nothing worked. Thank you

Thank you for this … Thank you for this explanation. My right hip is just like the example you gave of the top thigh shooting straight up. I've been doing this stretch for quite some time with little improvement in the ROM in my right hip. Suggestions? Are more frequent bouts of stretching in order? Thanks!
